Shannon Dulin
Co-Host of Don't Panic Geocast
Shannon is a newly minted PhD and an assistant professor of geology at a school that shall not be named. She has undergraduate degrees in meteorology and geology from the University of Oklahoma and is deeply in love with all aspects of the earth sciences. Shannon is a field geologist who teaches field methods class and Native Science, which is a class that endeavors to use indigenous people’s knowledge of the Earth to explain western science. Her research is in paleomagnetism—a big word meaning the ancient magnetization that is held in many types of rocks. Pmag can tell us a lot about what happens to rocks throughout their life cycle. She is interested in science education and in helping everyone realize and let loose their inner scientists!
